In 2025 MRHS board members Marilyn Comrie and Elizabeth Boucher did extensive research to determine the Mystic men in the 21st Regiment, Co. C and the 26th Regiment, Co. K of the Connecticut Volunteers who lost their lives fighting for the Union during the U.S. Civil War. Thanks to the generous support of the Charles B. Foundation, MRHS was able to pay to have the names of eight Mystic men who made the ultimate sacrifice for their country: Horatio Nelson Fish Jr., William Johnson, Cyrus Pease, Samuel G. Rathbun, Capt. Jedediah Randall, William C. Fellows, Herbert E. Maxson and John L. Seignious. The work was completed by Buzzi Memorial on November 5, 2025.
